About Dr. Lauren Breese

Hi there!

I'm Dr. Lauren Breese, a Clinical Psychologist with over 14 years of experience specialising in working with neurodivergence across all age groups. I have also published academic articles about neurodivergence which can be read here.

“I am passionate about neurodiversity, and I believe that helping people to understand themselves is the first step in building a life they want to live”

My expertise lies in providing through and psychologically informed assessments for autism, ADHD and AuDHD, along with tailored psychological therapy for neurodivergent individuals. I have a special interest in helping people to succeed at work, as well as those who may have experienced difficulties in the past which are holding them back in the present.

  • I've completed extensive training in autism assessment tools for adults and children (e.g. ADOS, ADI-R, ACIA) and honed my skills through a decade of experience working in specialist neurodevelopmental multidisciplinary teams (MDT), ensuring I can provide you with reliable and consistent assessments and therapy.

Working in a Community Mental health Team (CMHT) gave me the opportunity to work with adults where unfortunately their neurodivergence had been missed and perhaps misidentified as mental health difficulties, which resulted in them struggling further. Here I gained skills in differentiating between complex mental health difficulties and neurodivergence.

  • My NHS career spans across various services in the UK, including:
