and Psychology: a both/and approach to understanding neurodivergence.

Neurodivergent people don't exist in isolation. Our experiences are shaped by who we are, the people around us, and the systems we live and work within.

Neuroaffirming psychological therapy - for autistic and ADHD women navigating identity, work, relationships and parenting. Helping you to make sense of your experiences, understand your needs, and find ways forward that work for you.

Neurodivergence Exploration and Self Identification - for adults who are unsure whether they are autistic and/or ADHD and would like space to explore this with an experienced professional.

How can I support you?

I am Dr Lauren Breese, a Clinical Psychologist with over fourteen years of experience and a passion for supporting neurodivergent adults. I have a particular interest in working with women who are juggling it all, parenting, their career, relationships, alongside being late discovered autistic or ADHD. My mission is to celebrate neurodiversity and to collaborate with you to deepen your journey of self-discovery.

I offer psychological therapy if you are an autistic or ADHD woman and would like to make sense of your neurotype, recognise your needs, revisit past experiences, develop self acceptance and understanding, alongside finding a way to pursue your ambitions.

If you are considering whether you are autistic and/or ADHD, I offer neurodivergence exploration and self identification sessions to help explore your experiences using a neurodivergent lens, without formal diagnosis.

At and Psychology, I bring together psychological knowledge, lived experience and a deep understanding of neurodivergence to explore what matters to each person, and consider what needs to change.

My work is grounded in a both/and approach: making space for strengths and difficulties, acceptance and change, the individual and their environment.

I work online so I can help you from anywhere.

Work with me

  • Are you an ambitious, high-achieving woman who knows you’re capable of so much, but finds that things which seem to come naturally to others take enormous effort for you?

  • Are you a founder, business owner or professional trying to navigate your ambitions alongside the demands of everyday life, and wondering how to work in a way that fits your brain rather than constantly pushing against it?

  • Has becoming a parent brought up questions about your own childhood, identity or needs, or left you wanting to understand yourself better so you can support your children while looking after yourself, too?

  • Have you spent years feeling different, misunderstood or out of step with others, and are beginning to wonder whether being autistic, ADHD or AuDHD might help you make sense of your experiences?

  • Do you find yourself masking, people-pleasing or adapting to others’ expectations, and feel ready to understand what you need, rather than continuing to fit yourself into what is expected of you?

  • Are you rethinking how you want to live, work, parent or relate to others, and looking for a better understanding of yourself and what helps you thrive?

  • Are you looking for a therapist who understands neurodivergence, and can offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore your experiences, identity and the changes you want to make?

Whether you’re struggling in some areas of life or simply want to understand yourself more deeply, I’d love to work with you.

If you’d like a space to understand yourself more deeply, explore the impact of your experiences and find ways of working, parenting and living that feel more sustainable and true to you, I’d love to work with you.

You don’t have to be diagnosed to work with me, I welcome people who are self identifying or wondering, and curious about using a neurodivergent lens.

Neurodivergence Self Identification & Discovery

If you’re a clinician and would like a space to reflect on your clinical work, deepen your understanding of neurodivergent clients and explore how to adapt your approach to better meet their needs, get in touch.

If you’re wondering whether you are autistic and/or ADHD, I offer consultations to help you to figure out the next steps. I can recommend whether a diagnostic assessment is right for you, help you to weigh up the pros and cons of this, and make other recommendations.

If you’re not interested in a formal diagnosis, I can offer a package of sessions to help you to understand yourself using a neurodivergent lens.

NB: I am experienced and trained in autism and ADHD diagnostic assessments but I am not currently offering formal diagnosis.
